All Wapato Schools Transitioning to Remote Learning Starting Friday, January 14th

Due to impacts on staff and students caused by the recent surge in COVID cases, all Wapato Schools will transition to remote learning starting tomorrow, Friday, January 14, through at least next Friday, January 21st.

If families have questions about this transition you should contact your student’s school.

STUDENT MEALS:

The District will be providing curbside grab-n-go meals for families.  That will happen tomorrow (January 14) afternoon from 1:00-4:30 p.m. on the west side of Wapato High School, which is the side nearest the tennis courts.  Tomorrow families will receive a day’s worth of meals for each of their students.

The District will do another distribution on Tuesday, January 18, at the same location at two different times.   One in the morning from 7:00-8:30 a.m. and one in the afternoon from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

During the Tuesday distribution families will receive 4-days worth of meals for each of their students which covers next week.

SPORTS:

At this time Wapato High School sports practices, competitions and COVID testing for students athletes will continue as scheduled.  If this schedule changes it will be communicated by the high school.

Wapato Middle School sports will not take place in any capacity while the District is in remote learning.

Later next week the District will re-evaluate to determine if there will be a need to extend remote learning beyond January 21st.
