WSSDA Executive Director Visits District

At the invite of the Wapato School Board, the Executive Director of the Washington State School Directors’ Association (WSSDA) visited the District in late August.  WSSDA Executive Director Tim Garchow was interested in learning more about the District’s recent facilities construction.  Wapato School Board President Myron Yolo and Board Member Alan Taylor helped lead the tour that included a visit to the Cross Laminated Timber classroom addition at Adams Elementary, a walk through the Simcoe Elementary build and a look at Wapato High School.  Mr. Garchow was impressed with how the District has been able to leverage different funding sources to pay for each of the projects.  He says he will be sharing with other District Directors in the State about Wapato’s multifaceted approach to providing affordable, high quality learning facilities for its students.  On behalf of the Wapato School Board the District wants to thank WSSDA and Mr. Garchow for taking the time to visit.
