In recognition of Native American History Month PACE High School students received a visit in early November from some special guests. Becca Lynn and her brother, Dyami Thomas are motivational speakers. The enrolled members of the Klamath Tribes in Oregon travel the country speaking to youth about suicide prevention, resiliency and dream building. Their message for the PACE students was about setting goals, keeping their goals in sight and achieving them. Both Becca and Dyami are certified suicide prevention peer counselors. They live drug and alcohol free lifestyles and have made it one of their missions to create positive change in Indian country. In addition to travelling around and empowering you, Dyami is also an accomplished model and actor. He has been modeling professionally since he was 17. Becca is a talent manager and a Native theatre arts music teacher and has worked as a theatre arts director for a Native youth theatre acting company in the Seattle area.
