The Wapato School District #207 is seeking nominations for a vacancy on its Board of Directors.  Written nominations can be made by any citizen living within the Wapato School District boundaries.   You can also nominate yourself.  Nominees MUST be a registered voter and MUST live within the director district in which the vacancy is occurring.  In this case the vacancy is in District #2.

Nomination packets are available at the Central District Office located at 212 W. 3rd Street, Wapato WA. You can also download and print the nomination form from the District’s website at www.wapatosd.org. Look for the “About Us” tab and click on the “School Board of Directors” title in the drop-down menu. You can print it off the site and mail it to the District Office at 212 W. Third St., Wapato, WA 98951. The District will be accepting nominations until 2:00 p.m. on February 27, 2018.

  Once nominations have been closed the Board secretary will notify all nominees by sending them a summary of director responsibilities and ask them for a written biography and a statement about their interest in being a board member.

  The School Board will screen the nominees and eventually appoint one, who in the judgment of at least three members of the Board is the most likely to contribute to the growth and development of the District’s educational programs and operations.  That person will serve as a Board member until the next regularly scheduled board election, at which time a director will be elected by voters for the unexpired term, if any.  Maps of each Director District can be found on the District website by clicking on “School Board of Directors” under the “About Us” tab.
