To all of those who attended the 61st Annual Wapato High School Bean Feed on February 2nd, thank you for helping cancer patients in the Valley one bean at a time. Your support of this year’s Bean Feed helped raise more than $3,300 that will be donated to help families receiving treatment at the North Star Lodge Cancer Treatment Center in Yakima. In addition to hundreds of bowls of beans being served, the evening included student entertainment, fry bread sales by the High School’s Native American Club and scrumptious desserts being sold by the Wapato High School Senior Parents Group. There were also Wapato High School Alumni recognition activities at the Bean Feed and during the Girls and Boys basketball games against Ellensburg. A handful of other high school clubs were also on hand to show off their work and activities to the large crowd that attended this wonderful community event.
