Heartwarming Show of Support for Middle School Student

All of her fellow students and staff were lined up outside and inside the school to show their support and wish her the best as she prepared to have surgery at Children’s Hospital in Seattle in October.  Wapato Middle School students and staff are rallying around one of their own as she does battle with an extremely rare form of cancer.  6th Grader Abigail Gonzalez has not been able to start the school year with the rest of her classmates due to a diagnosis of a Desmoplastic Small Round-Cell Tumor (DSRCT).   Abigail is a strong, energetic young lady who wants nothing more than to be enjoying the school year with her peers.

Abigail is scheduled to have surgery at Children’s Hospital in Seattle next month and the students and staff at the Middle School want her to know much they will be thinking about and supporting her.   The school is planning a “support parade” for Abigail tomorrow afternoon, September 26th.  The students and staff will line the hallways at Wapato Middle School starting at 1:10 p.m.   Abigail will make her way through the hallways as her peers and staff cheer her on and show their support with banners, cards and signs.
